Why choose online lessons?

The concept of traditional education has changed radically within the last couple of years, and more and more people are choosing online or distance learning. Nowadays, you can have access to a quality education whenever and wherever you want, as long as you can get online.

Online music lessons may not be for everyone, but they can be a great option for some students, especially those who are pressed for time, live too far from a good music instructor, or just find in-person lessons too stressful or intense.

There are a lot of benefits to doing online lessons including:

  • Doing the lesson in the comfort and safety of your own home

  • Saving on travel costs and travelling time

  • Managing your own time and deciding how to learn

Better learning experience and progression

As you'll be home for the lesson, you’ll most likely end up playing and practising more often and therefore progressing quicker.

Utilising Zoom

Few helpful features that we’ll use during your online lessons:

Screen sharing:

This allows me to efficiently show you my screen during the lesson and vice versa. This can be extremely helpful and effective for sharing music sheet, digital books, exercises, videos, and recorded music during the lesson.

Separate cameras:

During the online lessons I have two cameras set up to enhance your learning:

•    body- guitar- left hand shot
•    right hand shot

Editing and sharing files:

The online lesson is connected to my iPad where I can share files and edit them as we go through the music. We can work without interruptions and discuss the musical choices, fingering, and expressions.

Audio quality:

Even if most of the devices nowadays have a great audio quality, I prefer to give to use a professional microphone that has a better sound quality.

Extensive resources

Google or Dropbox Folders:

Every material that we use during the lessons is stored on a personalised folder that I create for each student. This folder is constantly updated and contains files that will help you in your learning of the guitar.

Videos:

To help my students, I have created some videos where I explain common problems for beginners and intermediate level guitarists. For example: the seating position, changing the strings, left and right hand and techniques, specific exercises, and much more. These videos are accessible to all my students via the ‘Student Area’ on my website.

Reputation matters

If you are still hesitant on whether online lessons are for you or you are not sure if you will learn or develop your skills, then refer to my testimonial and you will see that although lessons are online, they are very effective and you will grow as a student. Most of my students have taken music exams during the pandemic and have successfully passed their exams with distinction grades. This shows that having online lessons can still help you achieve your goals with great results!
